GIVE UP SHYNESS

What I often teach lately is that you should give up shyness about being successful. Thinking that being low key is a humility is a misconception. Especially when it comes to teaching and spreading spiritual principles. Prabhupada said that one should be a lamb at home and a lion in the chase.

One girl asked Prabhupada: "When we are doing sankirtana, I must be very aggressive, but when I come to the temple, then I'm supposed to be very humble."

Prabhupada's answer was "A lamb at home, a lion in the chase." When you are chasing, you must be a lion, but when you come home, you do not try to chase the devotees." (laughter)

One devotee asked Prabhupada: "How does one become humble, and how does one stay humble?" He had the tendency when he was distributing the most books in the temple to become proud.

Prabhupada said: "Be aggressive for Krsna, then it is successful. There are two things: First, if I am aggressive, I should be aggressive in my service for Krsna. And second, I should be aggressive also in trying to get Krsna's mercy. So both ways - aggressive to preach and aggressive to get the mercy."

To be aggressive for Krsna you have to surrender.

Prabhupada said: "When I am out, I am like a lion in the chase, but when I am home with the devotees, I am like a lamb."

Our devotees have so many good qualities and so much knowledge, but because they are trying to be humble, they go out and preach boldly.

Real humility means to fight for Krsna in the outside preaching field and also nicely and regularly support those who are already with us.

CLARITY

Found this cool text on one website and customised it a bit for you:

Clarity might help you achieve success and happiness.

Lack of clarity is probably more responsible for frustration and underachievement than any other single factor.

That’s why we say that "Success is goals, and all else is commentary."

People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine.

* The Three Keys to High Achievement *

You could even say that the three keys to high achievement are, "Clarity, Clarity, Clarity," with regard to your goals.

Your success in life will be largely determined by how clear you are about what it is you really, really want.

* Write and Rewrite Your Goals *

The more you write and rewrite your goals and the more you think about them, the clearer you will become about them.

The clearer you are about what you want, the more likely you are to do more and more of the things that are consistent with achieving them.

Meanwhile, you will do fewer and fewer of the things that don’t help to get the things you really want.

* The Seven Step Process for Achieving Goals *

Here is the simple, seven-step process that you can use to achieve your goals faster and easier than ever before.

First, decide exactly what you want in each area of your life. Be specific!

Second, write it down, clearly and in detail;

Third, set a specific deadline. If it is a large goal, break it down into sub-deadlines and write them down in order;

Fourth, make a list of everything you can think of that you will have to do to achieve your goal. As you think of new items, add them to your list;

Fifth, organize the items on your list into a plan by placing them in the proper sequence and priority;

Sixth, take action immediately on the most important thing you can do on your plan. This is very important!

Seventh, do something every day that moves you toward the attainment of one or more of your important goals. Maintain the momentum!

* Join the Top 3% *

Fewer than three percent of adults have written goals and plans that they work on every single day.

When you sit down and write out your goals, you move yourself into the top 3% of people in our society.

And you will soon start to get the same results that they do.

* Review Your Goals Daily *

Study and review your goals every day to be sure they are still your most important goals.

You will find yourself adding goals to your list as time passes.

You will also find yourself deleting goals that are no longer as important as you once thought.

Whatever your goals are, plan them out thoroughly, on paper, and work on them every single day.

This is one fo the most important keys to peak performance and maximum achievement.

* Action Exercises *

Here is how you can apply this law immediately:

First, make a list of ten goals that you would like to achieve in the coming year. Write them down in the present tense, as though a year has passed and you have already accomplished them.

Second, from your list of ten goals, ask yourself, "What one goal, if I were to accomplish it, would have the greatest positive impact on my life?" Whatever it is, put a circle around this goal and move it to a separate sheet of paper.

Third, practice the seven-step method described above on this goal. Set a deadline, make a plan, and put it into action and work on it every day. Make this goal your major definite purpose for the weeks and months ahead.

Get ready for some amazing changes in your life.

4 Assumptions

I found this on youtube:

Body
Assume you've head a heart attack. Now live accordingly.

Heart
Assume everything you say about another, they can overhear. Now speak accordingly.

Mind
Assume that half-life of your profession is two years. Now prepare accordingly.

Spirit
Assume you have a one-on-one communication with your Creator. Now live accordingly.

EUROPEAN LEADERS MEETING

Today I had a 2 hour goal setting workshop for 12 leaders and managers in the afternoon, after the regular sessions. Few devotees had some amazing realizations during the workshop. Goal setting is about clarifying what you want and taking action. Being accountable to someone else helps to be more focused.

CAKE BLUES

Few days ago it was my birthday. The day before one devotee asked me to come and have breakfast with devotees and said that devotees are criticizing me for never having breakfast with them (which is actually not true).

I didn't understand why this devotee is inviting me for breakfast. Only after about 2 hours while I was on the bus I remembered that this is because of my birthday. Devotees have planned a cake (as they do for almost every Soho resident or employed devotee).

Someohow I couldn't make it for breakfast that day. When I came back some devotees wished me a happy birthday and said that my birthday cake was excellent. I found out who made it and thanked that devotee.

I also asked one or two of them was anything left from the cake, and they said - no. Haha! Krsna taught me that my birthday is not meant for my pleasure, but for the pleasure of the devotees.

Actually another devotee had his birthday on the same day, so there were two cakes that morning. Still, nothing was left. Haha!

Two days later, one kind devotee offered me a huge peace of an excellent cake from Govinda's, which I didn't refuse. Haha!

10 STEPS TO GOALS

1. Decide exactly what you want in every area of your life and service. This is usually the biggest problem that people have. They don’t know what they want and then they’re surprised when they don’t get it.

2. Write your goals clearly in every detail. A goal that is not written down is merely a wish. When you write it down, you signal to Krsna that you really want to accomplish this particular goal that will please Him.

3. Write your goal in simple, present tense words on a three-by-five index card and carry it with you to read and re-read throughout the day whenever you get a chance. This will remind you of your goal, keep you focused, and make you aware of the opportunities for achieving it.

4. Make a list of everything you can do that will move you toward your Krsna conscious goal. Making a list intensifies your desire and shows Krsna that you are serious and sincere about achieving it.

5. Organize the list by priority. What is more important and what is less important? What will you do first? What will you do second, etc.?

6. Resolve to take action every day on one of the items on your list. Do something every day that moves you toward your goal so that you can maintain momentum.

7. Visualize your goal repeatedly. See it in your mind’s eye as though it were already a reality. The more clear and vivid your mental picture of your goal, the more you will be focused and inspired to attain it.

8. Imagine the feeling you would have if your goal were realized at this very moment and would really please Krsna.

9. Behave as if Krsna was bringing your goal into reality. Accept that you are moving toward your goal and it is moving toward you.

10. Surrender your goal completely to Krsna who is within your heart. Turn your goal over to the Supersoul, act responsibly as if the outcome depends on you, but be aware that it depends on Krsna. Combination of a sincere, intelligent personal effort and Krsna's mercy brings Krsna conscious results.

15 Important Questions

Here are 15 important questions that, if we would ask ourselves regularly, can make a huge positive difference in our lives. We urge you to not only ask, but to write down your answers. There is power and a call to action when you put your thoughts in writing!

1. What one decision would I make if I knew I would not fail?

2. What one thing should I eliminate from my life because it holds me back from reaching my full spiritual potential?

3. Am I on the path of something absolutely marvelous, or something absolutely mediocre?

4. Am I running from something, or to something?

5. What can I do to make better use of my time?

6. Who do I need to forgive?

7. What impossible thing am I believing and planning for?

8. What is my most prevailing thought?

9. What good thing have I previously committed myself to do that I have quit doing?

10. Of the people I respect most, what is it about them that earns my respect?

11. What would a truly creative person do in my situation?

12. What outside influences are causing me to be better or worse?

13. In what areas do I need improvement?

14. What gifts, talents, and strengths do I have?
